Review of Private Parts (1997) by Steven C — 03 Jun 2010
A very interesting docu-dramedy about real life radio personality Howard Stern. This movie takes an interesting risk by having the icon they're documenting play himself in the film. The movie is based on the autobiography written by Stern, and has this interesting combination of documentary style filmmaking with the generic movie structure, plus the occasional breaking of the fourth wall by Stern himself as the narrator of his own movie.
It's very funny seeing his life go from a geeky Jewish kid from New York to the #1 Radio Jockey America has ever seen.
