Review of Prisoners (2013) by Dylan M — 06 Mar 2016

Prisoners is a film directed by Denis Villeneuve and is about a kidnapping instance that has occurred in this small town and behind the investigation is some of my favorites, Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman.

I absolutely loved this movie. Villeneuve's story telling mixed with a blend of intense suspense, drama, and emotion, perfectly accommodates a beautiful mystery thriller. Hugh Jackman in the film plays one of the main dads whose girl has gone missing.

This is by far the best we've seen of him in awhile because his performance is top notch. Jackman gives an excellent portrayal of a father going insane and that will do literally anything to get his daughter back.

Gyllenhaal just gets better as he keeps making movies. There is no role this guy can not do and it is a true pleasure watching this man act. After viewing Prisoners, the film will definitely leave an emotional scar on you.

Villeneuve is afraid to expose his dark side. He takes this movie as far as it gets on the creepy aspect and will send you chills throughout the whole the movie. The film is two and a half hours long but don't let the run time scare you.

Prisoners' mysterious plot will have your eyes and ears glued to the screen listening to every tiny little detail because being extremely attentive while watching this movie is very important. I also enjoyed the setting of the film and the way it looked on screen.

The cold environment added to the chilling aspect even more. Prisoners will haunt you with its eerie story but will leave you utterly impressed with its heart racing storyline.
