Review of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) by Luc D — 27 Nov 2011

This movie has definitely jump started my summer movie going experience!!!! Anyone thats a fan of action, fantasy and adventure can't pass this one up! In the movie, I like how they fleshed out the backstory of the Prince and even managed to finally give him a NAME, something the game series failed to do.

Adding something that minor to identify him with and his development as a whole really gave the movie an extra shine. I felt that it was a perfect adaptation of the game of the same name and a flawless recreation of its best moments (namely the EXTREMELY well done action sequences, production value was WAY up) along with some new angles thrown in.

Some minor negative points, the dialogue was kind of uninspired and some parts were predictable as the story won't win an Oscar, but come on, it's based on a video game series, and its summer! It was meant to be pure escapism FUN! Overall, I say definitely go see it! If you liked/loved "The Mummy" franchise or "300" you won't be disappointed here!
