Review of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) by Dathan R — 05 Jul 2012
Let's be honest: If you watched this movie hoping for something other than shallow swashbuckling nonsense you were setting yourself up for disappointment. I rented this movies from Netflix because Jake Gyllenhall can make me forget everything else that's going on and I was under the impression there would be plenty of scenes with him sweaty and shirtless.
What I had forgotten was that this is a Disney production so my hopes were tremendously unfulfilled in that regard. Otherwise, it was a fun romp in the sand. It didn't make me angry and confused like Clash of the Titans (there were no shiny gods or gigantic scorpions being serenaded by djinn), but it was a good span of time where I just had to suspend any sense of logic in the name of adventure.
If you can't do that, don't watch this.
