John Carptenter is a genius. Quantum physics, the devil, and Alice Cooper as a homeless guy. What more could you want? How about a cerebral and horrifying movie? And the score, like most of John Carpenter's, is eerie and perfect for the atmosphere.
Claustrophobic with a slow build.
