Review of Prince of Darkness (1987) by Jason D — 27 Nov 2008
A group of physics students work together with their professor and a priest (played by the awesome Donald Pleasence) to halt the coming of Satan who is forcing his way into our world in a warehouse building in the slums of the city.
Hokey B-movie stuff at times, but this film is a helluva lot of fun to watch. Things get even weirder when mass amounts of bums and thugs turn out to try and kill the people inside, with huge homages to Night of the Living Dead and John Carpenter's own Assault on Precinct 13.
The film is a lot of fun to watch, like I said. Old coots Pleasence and Victor Wong are fun to watch, as is the creepy looking Alice Cooper in a small role. This is definitely a nice little gem from the Carpenter catalog.
One of my favorites.
