Prince of Darkness is disappointing. Yes, this is a John Carpenter film, the whole film feels its unique style. But Prince of Darkness doesn't compare at all with the director's other films, especially The Thing.
Prince of Darkness has a very mediocre plot in which there is almost no action or development. For the most half of the film, you are waiting for the start of the development of events of which simply not.
Prince of Darkness has nothing to surprise the viewer. It doesn't scare like horror, it doesn't keep you on your toes like a thriller. Prince of Darkness just spends your time for 15 minutes of action in the film's finale.
Prince of Darkness can only be recommended to John Carpenter fans and no one else.
