Review of Primer (2004) by Edward D — 10 Jun 2010
This is the low budger sci-fi by way of Time Traveling film. Well it starts out with narration with a man's voice saying that the four men depicted have about a high school science background, for some vague reason the half of the quartet split ways because they don't want to come working on something.
As the movie progresses the remaining two guys working on the project talk fake widget science of doohickies trying to sound all important even though they don't know what the fuck they are trying to get at, but for some reason the remaining pair still continue.
Well the visuals and lighting for this low budget film is good, but how it teeters through the self-importance plot of what they are doing is Ugh to me. What I didn't understand is supposely they found a substance that would take years to develop on their invention which only took a couple of days, so I would think then that it then speeds time forward, but soon later on the movie informs I think that the pair are going through the past with their invention.
Then somehow a bum with facial hair informs them someone else is messing around their invention other themselves. My god what a bummer to the Hype I heard about this, sure it looks good, but the content is so wishy-washy of substance to make it come off as falling flat on its face in my eyes.
