Review of Primary Colors (1998) by Derrick J — 25 Feb 2008
This film couldn't quite seem to decide what it wanted to be. It was strongest towards the end when it dispensed with the humour and just played it straight.
John Travolta was altogether too smarmy (but perhaps that was the point?), Emma Thompson was strong throughout and Kathy Bates (like the film itself) came into her own in the last half an hour.
