At times it can shine with interesting shots and cool zombie effects, but it can't redeem the fact of the underdeveloped love story and plot that is all over the place. the other negative is the change of ganre when at times it tries to be funny and falters. Its better off staying as a dark fun zombie fun instead of an off the rails dark comedy.
On another note Matt Smith and Lily James make it enjoyable nonetheless at times.
