Review of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016) by Paola R — 23 Jun 2016
What can you really expect from a movie called Pride + Prejudice + Zombies? Apparently, a pretty good movie. Visually, the movie is great, great opening sequence and great prosthetics, but Lily James is very bleh and sometimes annoying as Elizabeth Bennet, as is her co-star, Sam Riley, although somehow I kind of liked his character(I dunno).
I am upset that this seemingly original twist on a classic is based on a cult classic book, so it's just another adaptation that really had no reason to be made other than money, and that always bothers me.
However, the movie does have likability in its satire and tendency to not take itself too seriously. Just an alright movie, but still much better than I expected.
