Review of Pride and Prejudice (1940) by Nellie K. A — 18 Apr 2008
As a Pride and Prejudice superfan, I have to say I was a little disappointed with the ending... they made Lady Catherine all nice at the end, and I think they effeminated Darcy a little. But Laurence Olivier is, as always, excellence.
Greer Garson was wonderful too, though she was a little more Scarlet O'Hara than Elizabeth Bennet. An okay adaption, but I'll definitely take the more recent adaptions, like the one with Colin Firth, or the 2005 with Keira Knightley.
