Inspired by a true story, Pride is a funny, charming gem. Imelda Staunton, Bill Nighy and cast all give exemplary performances bringing a genuine warmth to proceedings. At times the movie does feel a little too saccharine (a queerbashing happens off screen, the miners' acceptance of the gays is a little too easy.
..) but you would have to be hard of heart not to leave the cinema with a tear in your eye, and a warm glow in your heart.
