Review of Pride (2014) by Brian F — 09 Apr 2015
I was on the miner's picket lines in Yorkshire; it transformed my life in the political sense. . While this film doesn't capture what that was like and the brutality of Thatcher's assault on the miners and their communities it is still a very good film about working class life and solidarity.
The small Welsh community could have been West Virginia or Kentucky or any of the miner's communities throughout the world. The term working class was not used once as far as I could see. Compared to Hollywood, it's a masterpiece.
It's worth watching.
