I recommend seeing this film. The story is compelling and it is well acted. I've just seen an advanced showing with my 15yes old son and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It is faithful to the 1980s and took me right back to that period when political parties were clearly right or left instead of both fighting for the middle ground.

I was moved by the passion of both miners and gays and at times I had to fight the tears. My son, whose regular fare are films like The Inbetweeners, found it fascinating and enjoyed the 1980s music. It really opened his eyes and provoked many questions on the journey home.

Whatever your politics this is worth seeing.
