Review of Priceless (2006) by Sophie D — 26 Jul 2008
A young gold digger mistakenly woos a mild-mannered bartender thinking he's a wealthy suitor. The bartender is played by Gad Elmaleh from The Valet (La Doublure) and the gold digger played byAudrey Tautou (Amelie), two great comic actors. The New York Times has a the best alternative title: Cherchez le Sugar Daddy (et Sugar Mom). Gad Elmaleh is a more sophisticated version of the same innocent fool out of his depth that he played in â??The Valet". The gold digger and the sophisticated fool seem to have a competition but in the end she's the one to have heart broken. She realizes that didn't need all the excess. Next, they're both together with embrace, kissing. Watching that at home, Priceless.
"She take my money when I'm in need.
Yeah she's a trifling friend indeed.
Oh she's a gold digger way over town.
That dig's on me.
Now I ain't sayin' she a gold digger (When I'm in Need)".
Those lyrics just seem to fit this movie.
