Review of Priceless (2006) by Roxanne R — 19 Jan 2009
What a charming and lovely film! It was recommended by the manager at the Blockbusters near my place. Taking place in beautiful Paris, the movie is about a gold digger named Irene who is 20 something. She only dates very wealthy men who enjoy her company for awhile.
One confusing night she is duped at her own game by one of the hotel's bartenders who falls madly in love for her. She discovers that he is not a prince but a pauper and tosses him so the only way to win her back (why would he want to do that is beyond me but hey I didn't write the script) is to turn the tables on her.
The film is certainly enchanting and a good study in human behavior/social interaction. In the first 20 mins I was hating the female protagonist -Audrey Tautou- for being such a nasty gold digger but that shows she was doing a very good job playing her part.
Great ending so highly recommended!
