Review of Priceless (2006) by Tom J — 14 Oct 2010
The French do romantic comedies right. Rather than focusing on the hokey plot device that drives most rom coms, they focus on the romance and the chemistry between the stars and keep everything light and frothy.
While neither Irene (Audrey Tautou) or Jean (Gad Eimaleh) are particularly likable people, they work magically together. If you can ignore the basic plot premise of Irene being essentially a prostitute who sells her charms to wealthy men so that she can wear beautiful clothes and stay in beautiful hotels, then be ready to enjoy a nice.
