Review of Priceless (2006) by Joe W — 14 Jan 2011
As far as rom-coms go I'd say this is pretty much spot on. The French seem to have a way with farcical, slightly slapstick, comedy that would just seem cheesy if tried by Hollywood. I was worried that the jokes might not come across as well having to read subtitles throughout but that wasn't the case at all.
Although visually it's full of glitz & glamour, the actors make you feel the charecter's sadness within. Thankfully, it doesn't dwell on the sour side of the events, leaving you feeling warm & hopeful as the end credits roll.
