This romantic comedy about a dour businessman with a cold hearted father and a Hollywood prostitute who escaped from a small town is very well made, humorous and insightful about the way people are. If it traffics in a fantasy that shouldn't be held against it.
It's also a great portrait of Hollywood circa 1990.
