Review of Pretty Persuasion (2005) by Patrick G — 02 May 2009
This film was a lot dirtier than I expected, but all the nasty stuff occurs off camera. as for the plot, it is a bad-preppie-girl-gets-revenge-on-her-friends-for-her-own-sick-twisted-reasons in the vein of Cruel Intentions and Sorry Haters. James Woods is enjoyable as the unloving, corporate father. it's always fun to watch Evan Rachel Wood, but I guarantee you won't look at her the same way again after you see this one. Selma Blair's in it a little bit too as the love interest of Ron Livingston, and she turns me on.
I'd recommend this if you're in a weird-sexual-indie film mood.
