Review of Predestination (2014) by Lauren P — 20 Mar 2015
This movie truly made me wish time travel were real, so I could go back in time by an hour and a half and warn myself not to watch it. Artfully told though it may be, an essential element of any successful work of science fiction is encouraging the audience to suspend their sense of disbelief.
The blatant disregard for the most basic biological principles in this story, combined with the utterly illogical behavior of many characters makes it impossible to do so with this film. Even Ethan Hawke can't redeem this one.
