Review of Predestination (2013) by Aubrey A — 14 Feb 2015
PreDEstiFECATION.
I'm conflicted about this movie. Yes, I hated this movie, and yes I gave it 5 stars. It's a conundrum. My rating and my feelings about this movie is as impossible as this movie is. Yet, I hate this movie and yes, I love it at the same time. Realistically, my rating should even out, and rate it a 3, but since this movie is impossible, therefore the rating must be also be. The trailer for this movie made it appear as a smorgasbord of action packed, science fiction, time traveling adventure. I was psyched into seeing it by this misleading trailer. Trouble is, the trailer didn't lie. I found myself pausing the movie with a resounding WTF! Was Truth Forsaken? Logic was given no consideration in the making this movie. But that can be said about many movies that embrace that genre from Superman to Freddy Krueger. The acting was superb, and cinematography was top notch. Kudo's all around. Except for the plot.
If you were to rate my rating of this movie you would think it as convoluted as a lot of the people who viewed the movie. I wish I had never seen it...the first time, nor the second or third time. I think I'm going to buy it on Blu-ray.
