Review of Predator 2 (1990) by Stephen M — 18 Apr 2013

Sequels are a hard thing to pull off, especially when you are attempting to follow up the rather splendid Arnie classic, Predator. But here we have Predator 2, and it does a blooming great job! It's a fast paced Sci-Fi Actioner with a host of quality and popular actors of the time - from Lethal Weapon's Danny Glover to Aliens Bill Paxton.

(Who interestingly enough is the only actor to be killed by a Xenomorph, a Predator and a Terminator!) The film is relentless in its action and it barely slows down at all. The setting and the heat combined with the gang violence storyline make for a sweaty & unpleasant feel that seems very gritty and real - which helps considering the characters are almost caricatures of extremes.

I think Predator 2 is never given enough credit.
