Review of Predator 2 (1990) by Matthew D — 15 Jul 2017
The first film was great because it was so lean; cut down to bare minimum, the sequel groans under the weight of too much fat. It tries desperately hard to inject personality into its characters and set-up and fails miserably, often heading into absurdity.
Nevertheless, the moments with the titular monster are solid, and since few questions were answered the first time around the mystery surrounding it keeps one watching through the boredom; and when they come the answers are pretty good.
