A film that could so easily have fallen hard on its depressing face, but is so carefully directed and presented that it becomes a triumphant representation of the best and worst of the human condition.
Mo'Nique really puts it all out there on the line in this movie and Sidibe brings a believable naive quality to the rite of passage. Gripping stuff.
