One of the best movies I saw in 09. The performances by Gabourey Sidibe and career-defining performances from Mo'Nique, Mariah Carey & Paula Patton made this film worth seeing. I applaud director Lee Daniels for his near perfect casting.
Who would've thought we might be hearing "Academy-Award" attached to Mo'Nique? The film is hard to watch at some points, but it's honest and show issues that are usually swept under the rug and move them right into the forefront.
