When a movie is based on a true story there isn't much you can say about the plot. Acting (especially Ms Weaver) was excellent and photography beautiful. Unfortunately, this story is even still far too common, religious bigots just as unforgiving and mothers overly protective (of their own perfect world).

The only disturbing element was technical, I could not understand the edgy jigsaw cuts every now and then, it gave me the impression that the director did not quite believe the story to be strong enough..
