This film is a really good film its a small little christmas movie that has one foot in the fantasy world but is very grounded in the real world it may not attract everybody to it because you have to understand the time it was made in the late 80's post E.
T. so if you see Prancer you may notice it has kinda of a E.T. fantasy feel to it but has its own story to follow.
