Review of Powder Blue (2009) by Konstantinos L — 28 May 2009

Powder Blue is a jigsaw puzzle bringing together people from different backgrounds who all face grim situations of their own. Through pure chance they all meet in some place and time and affect each others lifes in various ways.

I wanted to like Powder blue very much but in the end I just could not find that something in the movie that makes a movie really good. The cast was great and acting top notch but the missing link was just that, the movie could not link the different characters together well enough.Take Whitakers character who agonizes over his fiancees sudden death, the movie could have worked even better without this character as Whitaker seemed to walk a path of his own not in contact with the other characters at all, minus few brief meetings. Slow pace of the movie fitted the movie well but it just did not bring the characters together.
