Review of Powder (2001) by Trevor R — 01 Apr 2008
Sean Patrick Flannery is a severely underrated actor. I saw him in a CSI episode a few years back and I can say, the man's got chops. I've heard some criticism of the film because the director is a pederast and the teacher-student relationship seems to reflect that.
But I think that the quality of the film stands apart from that. It's a tearjerker, thanks in part to a great performance by Lance Henriksen, whose career unfortunately includes a turn in The Mangler 2, which, unfortunately, I've seen.
