Sitting in a crowded cinema full of middle-aged middle-class people I became very aware of how much more liberal our society is than when I was lad. I mean, the on-screen group sex was OK, but who'd have thought I'd have watched such long scenes of school rugby.
Another thing I've learned is what a phrase like 'there is a density to this film which truly repays repeat viewing' means. It means that the movie is going to be entirely incoherent.
