Some good casting and a couple of set peices save this from being an all out turkey.
Everything about this film screams out the old school 70's disaster flicks but it just doesn't have their charm. The dialogue is awful but watching the likes of Kurt and Dreyfuss delivering these lines makes it a little better. The characters are paperthin. How do they make it clear that Dreyfuss's character is gay? Easy, give him an earring.... Don't get me started on the little kid either, he's a little punk who was totally annoying.
This was pretty lazy storytelling. There is a sequence towards the end where the punk kid disappears which makes no sense and it is never explained (even the punk can't explain it) which shows the kind of care exercised in this story.
Having said that, there are some nice set pieces which help to pass the time and any film where you get to see Fergie go to a watery grave has to be given it's day in court.....
