Review of Portrait of Jennie (1948) by Philip E — 18 Jun 2007

This is a decidedly eerie love story that takes place in the bleakscape of 1930's New York and in my opinion was a very unusual movie for its time period. I enjoyed it thoroughly, however, especially considering how many patches of mystery were still left a-floating by the film's end.

Also, the soundtrack was infused with music from Claude Debussy, which was another positive aspect. Top-notch acting, story and soundtrack = a must see of refreshing unconventionality.
