Review of Portrait of Jennie (1948) by Daniel S — 28 Aug 2011
Didnt end up being what I thought it was, its actually a lil creepy joe cotten falling for a kid and then watching her grow up, the whole logic of who/what jennie is is convoluted and confusing, and I didnt really respond to her, the ending is rushed too, also there was some pretty subpar editing and sound mixing, especially for an A movie, having said all that, most of the acting is good, and there are some well written exchanges, I wish there was more of the irish friend, some good cinematography too.
