Review of Portrait of an Escort (1980) by Allan C — 19 May 2017
Campy made-for-TV movie about single mother Susan Anspach moonlighting as an escort to make ends meet. She goes on various dates in the evenings, while trying to maintain her real estate job, her relationship with her hunky boyfriend, and also raise her daughter.
When Anspach tries to quit her new job, her madame begins harassing her and one of her clients begins stalking her. There's a pretty good supporting cast of semi-famous actors including Tony Bill, Kevin McCarthy, Edie Adams, Mary Frann, Todd Susman, and the great Cyd Charisse in a Guest Starring role.
Overall, this is TV-movie quality of a Sirkian melodrama that is best enjoyed on an ironic so-bad-it's-good camp level.
