Review of Pontypool (2009) by James B — 26 Sep 2009
When certain words in the human language become infected it turns the residents of the small Ontario town of Pontypool into vicious monsters. Reporting on the outbreak, we see little of the outbreak but are, instead, made to witness it through the audio reports received by the three radio station's employees.
This film is a great example of when "less is more". Director Bruce McDonald could have shown us the riots, the rampage and the reported cannabalism but decides, instead, to make us hear what's happening which is much, much creepier.
A fantastic film that, sadly, few are likely to see.
