Review of Pontypool (2009) by Karen F — 31 Jan 2010
The central character was interesting, but kind of stolen from 'Ghostwritten' by David Mitchell. The whole thing really wasn't fast enough paced to be a horror, I'd far rather have seen the same characters in an entirely different drama film.
It all gave the impression of being a stage-play (quite possibly some sort of Quebec French-language propaganda piece) adapted for the big screen - and not quite coming off. I can see why people like it, but I prefer a straightforward zombie flick myself.
