Review of Pontypool (2009) by James I — 21 Jan 2011
Super Canadian Zombie flick with a difference. Leaves you with a lot to think about regarding language, in more than one way (particularly in an officially bilingual nation like Canada). A philosopher's (or maybe even a semiotician's or deconstructionist's) horror film.
Intellectual grad students will spend hours and many pints (no doubt) sussing out the many levels of discourse and meaning in this one. Highly recomended. Borrows from the form of the original War of the Worlds radio broadcast to keep tensions high.
Just enough gore and weirdness to satisfy a zombie purist.
