Review of Poms (2019) by Acacia — 14 May 2019
Let’s face it, folks, this movie is for old people! Especially older ladies. So, as an older woman, I am going to tell other older women not to be put off by the bad reviews! This is a movie you can relate to on many different levels, and it is fun.
Diane Keaton plays Martha, a woman with terminal cancer, who moves into a retirement community and decides to go for a long forgotten dream of becoming a cheerleader. She puts together a squad of eight ladies, all with various aches and pains, and they begin to practice so they can enter a cheerleading competition.
There is lots of stumbling around and many roadblocks put in their way. But, the ladies persevere and eventually, they get their chance to strut their stuff. Very fun and some good laughs.
