Review of Pompeii (2014) by Kyo 9 — 14 May 2014

Say what you will about the lack of acting, character development or historical inaccuracies, Pompeii is a fiercely entertaining guilty pleasure. From the director who brought you Resident Evil, Death Race and Event Horizon, comes a movie packed with non-stop bloody sword battles and volcanic carnage for 105 minutes.

If you are in the mood for some disaster and action set pieces, this movie can deliver on the most basic levels. Its cast is underused and is basically just filler for the volcano, but the visual effects are top notch!
