Pompeii is definitely a guilty pleasure type of movie. Cheesy dialogue, plenty of overacting, and of course, the overly dramatic love story. However, the action scenes are fun and the special effects are great.
Is Pompeii Oscar material? No, but if you like a high class B movie, then Pompeii is for you. Think of the movie Gladiator only on a lower scale.
