Review of Polytechnique (2009) by Corey P — 04 Sep 2009
I'm not sure why people apparently liked this. Ive seen a lot better from this subject matter. The biggest issue for me was the timeline. It had holes in it and was not easy to follow. Even now I'm trying to piece things together for myself. I suppose the film was done well in the sense it was tactful, but in a way that was a bad thing because I didnt connect to it at all. I was rather indifferent throughout the entire movie. The story on which it is inspired is of course awful and my heart goes out to those involved, but the movie was nothing special.
What did this movie teach me? Apparently no one notices, or cares when they see, someone walking around with a large gun. They only start to notice once the shooting begins. OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE!
