This is almost painful, but given writer/director Gary Sherman's portfolio, one can't be too surprised. So yes, 80% of the script is simply "Carol Anne" - someone yelling it, someone crying it, whispering, screaming, or saying it mockingly...one can look past this thanks to the god awful acting, the ridiculous mirror-filled (and glaringly obvious FAKE mirror-filled) setting and of course the whole idea that Carol Anne's parents simply shipped her off to Chicago...

The major disappointment with this installment, as well as the second, was the introduction of "Kane." This lukewarm character offers no chills...in fact he doesn't contribute much of anything, and what he DID have he spent all of in the sequel. The faceless evil force of the original movie succeeds in that ever-successful method of leaving your mind to create the ultimate hellish entity.

The amazing thing is that this guy went on to make the 1989 film "Lisa" and even THAT was a step above...
