Review of Poltergeist III (1988) by Ra M — 25 Aug 2017
The Poltergeist franchise smacks into a brick wall here. A lot of that has to do with the real life death of it's young star. The other part is that this movie just isn't very good. Removing the entire family, sans Carol Ann, and moving the location out of suburbia and into a Chicago high rise doesn't help matters.
The point of the first two movies was the family's love bonded them together to defeat evil. Having Carol Ann be given up to an aunt and uncle trashes that legacy.
