Review of Poltergeist (2015) by Ruththella W — 01 Oct 2015
Really disappointing. In the Original the writers created an emotional attachment to the characters. We cared about what happened to the family. In the remake only a marginal effort was made to endear us to the family.
The acting is stilted and amateurish. The special effects are good and some scenes are humorous, but the action is predictable. There is no fear factor. Then that long shot, at the end of the movie, focused on the rear of their SUV.
Why? Am I the only one that saw this it? I can't erase the shot of the the White Power symbol 8W8 on the license plate. It reminded me of the new Godzilla movie, where the number 88 was displayed in lights on the battleship's smokestack.
Both movies left me wondering how much money was sent to these hate groups and wishing that a rating code could be instituted to warn movie goers that we are about to spend money on a movie that promotes hate.
Wishing for a refund.
