Review of Poltergeist (2015) by Darren M — 28 Dec 2015
All I can say is, HOW DARE THEY? Truly, one of the worst films ever made, and even more of a sin, having based it on a total masterpiece. The 28% audience reviews says it all. How is it possible that someone sold the rights to the original? And the icing on the cake was the lingering close-up of a bumper sticker on the back of the family's SUV at the end which reads, "Hooper High School.
" That is a reference to the original director, whose name is Tobe Hooper. That's the extent of their homage to the original. And they kept the camera on the sticker for an eternity to make sure we all "got" the inside joke.
I won't even bother explaining all the many things that were wrong with this nightmare. The worst to me was how they revealed the reason why the house was haunted right at the very beginning, instead of at the very end.
Pure insanity for this and the many other horrible choices.
