It's a competently made film, but most of the time it feels like it's just kind of going through the motions. The acting is fine all around, and the VFX look good but you might as well just watch the original Poltergiest instead.
It's without a doubt the better film (but you didn't need me to tell you that, did you?). The few changes this film does make are so minor they aren't really worth mentioning.
