Gil Kenan pays homage to the 1982 classic and it has a few talented actors, but ultimately the 2015 remake of Poltergeist lacks scares and ends up with bland, presumably unintentional humour with this remake being completely unnecessary especially when you take into consideration the fact that this film is from the director of Monster House and City of Ember.
I guess Gil Kenan should stick with PG-rated films at the moment as he doesn't yet seem ready to direct PG-13 films let alone an R-rated film. This movie plain SUCKS.
