Cheap jump scare with a squarrel = scariest thing in the movie. So many issues with the film it makes me sick. The fact they play catch with a human vertebrae not knowing what it is is frustrating, that's high school level biology. First ten minutes practically throwing ghost stuff at you using a twing is pathetic since there is no buildup. The entire plot twist being given as exposition at a dinner party is insulting to the origional. But my major issue is the ghost world. In the origional all you saw was rope in closet...poof rope out in living room ceiling. The entire spirit world gives you this sense of open expanse...that you could be lost forever in it....that no one knows what it is really like and it is a non-linear reality. Not here! Showing the ghost world opened up new questions for me, such as:

If the ghosts damage electronics how does a drone with a camara fly in perfectly fine and transmit pictures?

If the world is the house then how does the ball and rope go from the closet, through the bedroom, down the hallway and stairs and into the livingroom? I mean do the ghosts carry them?

If its so dark you cannot see your way and will be lost without the rope then how come the kids don't need it and can clearly see fine? I mean there is a light shining down on them....

Why don't the ghosts just go to the light? It is clearly shown to be there, they are clearly shown reaching for it, but why don't they just go towards it?

Why are all these ghosts just chilling in the spirit world? They barely move when the kids leave...don't they do some hauntings in the real world? Aren't they active?

Only readon it got one full star was the clown scene I feel was remarkably well done. But then again they felt the need for the cgi tree hand....Treebeard would be insulted.
